Evangelism
| In a time when many are questioning the relevance of the church to their spiritual journeys, this book makes a bold case that "going to church" is intrinsic to Christian faith. Drawing on Anabaptist life and conviction, Mast presents Christ's call to all believers to be the church, whether gathered for worship or scattered for service. By exploring such practices as baptism, communion, singing, and group discernment, he asks us to consider how participation in the life of the church shapes our daily witness- how "going to church" transforms "going to work" in the world that God loves. copyright 2012 MennoMedia | |

| In addition to a new cover, this edition includes three essays by people whose lives have been inspired by the book. Donald B. Kraybill shows how the kingdom of God announced by Jesus appeared upside-down in first-century Palestine. Jesus wins by serving and triumphs by losing. Today, God's way still looks upside-down as it breaks into diverse cultures around the world. According to Kraybill, worldly authorities seek power and prestige, but Jesus' counter-cultural message is a clear call to turn the social ladder upside-down. Jesus demonstrates radical opposition to the dominant culture by making friends with social outcasts and rebelling against authorities. This message calls Christians from many cultures to actively participate in GodŐs upside-down kingdom. Copyright 2011 MenoMedia | |

| "I am not taking care of you! You are not wanted here. You are worth nothing to me! Get out!" Joyce cowered under the onslaught from her enraged mother-in-law. Weeping, the young mother clutched her baby tightly to herself and staggered out of the compound. Her weary body trembled all over, and nagging questions tormented her mind. Where was Musikali? Why hadn't he contacted her even once since going to the city? Was he still alive? Which was worse, the uncertainty of his absence, or the drunken beatings when he was home? Sure nothing short of a miracle could redeem the shattered lives of this Kenyan coupe, but a miracle is exactly what you will read about in this store. And not just one miracle, but any miracles. This book will make you marvel anew at the redemptive love of God that heals the brokenhearted and gives beauty for ashes. Copyright 2011 TGS International | |

Parenting
| With billions of dollars spent annually to educate children and youth, education is at the forefront of the news today. John D. Roth makes the case for a church-related alternative to the public school system-one shaped by the distinctive emphases of the Anabaptist-Mennonite tradition. Teaching That Transforms outlines a pedagogy that is consciously attentive to God's presence in the world, and that cultivates habits of worship, nurtures living traditions, and promotes caring and compassionate relationships. Roth offers an open, lively, vigorous, and honest conversation about the nature of our Christian witness to the world and about the future of the church. Copyright 2011 Herald Press | |

Devotional
| When it comes to mail spirituality, men seem to have only two choices for models--to be strong, take charge and independent, like warriors, or silent an along, like monks. That, says Gareth Brandt, is far too limiting. "When I started examining the subject, I thought there must be other images we could use to help us define what a Christian man looks like," he says. "I was sure that not every man wants to go into battle, or withdraw from others." Brandt, who teaches spirituality at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C., decided to test his idea by inviting some male friends to participate in a discussion group exploring different images of male spirituality. He sent each chapter out in advance to the group, which then met to talk about it. The result of those meetings is Under Construction, which uses the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis to explore other images of male spirituality-images such as peacebuilder, forgiver, reconciler and creator of God's shalom. For Brandt, male spirituality "reaches its height when it shows compassion to all people, beginning with those close to us. It's about being part of building God's commonwealth of love and justice, having the courage to face the wounds of our past and building a marriage, a family, and a career while empowering others to build with us." Under Construction: Reframing Men's Spirituality was made possible through the generious support of Mennonite Men, an organization of the Mennonite Church that promotes and develops resources for men.
